The Ardoberg-Holstein drillmasters are being kept busy preparing a new regiment of Curraissers to take the field. The new regiment, as yet unnamed, is being outfitted with uniforms as we speak. If time allows they will be taught how to ride and handle their weapons before the campaign season opens.
"before the campaign season opens.": which means joining the other regiments on the 'Champ de Mars' ('Field of Mars / March'). Hopefully we will enjoy seeing them drilling / parading before that date!

The lazy fellows clamored to have Christmas Day off or the Elector would already have had them drilling on the Marchfeld, where he could watch in comfort from the window of his palace study. The soldiers of Ardoberg-Holstein are valiant in battle but, I fear, we spoil them in those intervals of peace that occasionally break out. "We want shelter! We want food! We want firewood!" It never ends.
